Øster Hurup is a small town and a popular tourist destination in Mariagerfjord Municipality, North Jutland.
The town is known for its white sandy beach, widely recognized as the most child friendly beach in Denmark.

[edit]- 1 Øster Hurup Beach (The most child-friendly beach in Denmark) (From the main road, drive towards the harbour. After approx. 200 meters you will arrive at the free parking space, from where you can see the beach. beach.). Øster Hurup Beach is a clean, sandy beach with far stretching shallow waters - which makes the beach very child-friendly. It's clean bathing water is certified with the European Blue Flag.

In order to find your way around you might visit Lille Vildmose Center. The center in an exhibition where you can learn about the bog, the animals and the evolution of the bog. There is a cinema where films about the animals and the bog will be shown on your demand. Several of the films are in English and German.
In weekends and holidays the peat train will take you to the newly established lake 'Birkesø' and the guide will give you information of what you see.
The area called ‘The Wild Area’ is a newly established area where you can have so called ‘hands-on’ experiences. You will also find an enclosure with wild boars.
