The Aguacate Mountains (Montes de Aguacate) are in the Aguacate Mountains Biological Corridor in Costa Rica.

    Understand

    [edit]

The Aguacate Mountains are a chain of volcanic hills and ranges that stretches from Cañas, Guanacaste to San Pablo de Turrubares, San José province. Rich in gold, the region played a key role in the country’s mining economy during the late 19th and much of the 20th century.

The range features numerous ancient volcanic cones, domes, and relics, beginning in the northwest and extending southeast. Many formations are visible from the Inter-American Highway, with isolated cone-shaped hills that resemble small volcanoes.
