Atan Ota (also known as Atan Otta) is a frontline town in Ogun State's Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, one of the state's 19 local government areas. The population of the town is around 300,000 people. It is located directly west of Sango Otta township, on the international road connecting Nigeria and the Republic of Benin. A center for commercial activity. The majority of the population work as traders, selling food, supplies, and chicken feed. As more individuals migrate out of Lagos to develop apartment blocks in the expanding neighborhood, the settlement's population continues to grow.

The town has a public elementary school, Nawair-ud-deen primary school (N.U.D), with a field that serves as a stadium for Atan Ota residents, as well as a public secondary school, Local Government Secondary Commercial School. There are numerous private schools in the town. It also boasts a primary health center and a thriving market, which is undergoing renovations as of Jan 2022 to become an ultramodern market that opens every four days.
