    Barra de Santo Antônio is a seaside town in the Brazilian region of Alagoas, 37 km northeast of Maceió. It's home to 16,000 people (2020), and a popular beach holiday destination. Its beautiful beaches still remain fairly uncrowded.

    Crossed by the Santo Antônio Grande River, the Barra is divided into two parts, a more urban part that integrates the structure of the city, and, navigating along the river, the more native, where the main tourist attractions are concentrated.

    There's a good highway connection to Natal and Maceió. From Maceió, buses are available.

    Its beaches retain wild characteristics and reef lines form natural pools of indisputable clarity, such as such as Tabuba, with its showy fringe reefs and barriers, transforming the sea into a large swimming pool; the famous island of Croa; Maré Mansa and Carro quebra Beach, with its extensive coconut groves and beaches of rare beauty and still unexplored, maintaining its wild and exotic appeal.

    Ilha da Crôa, can be reached by the bridge that connects the City Center with the most native part of Croa Island.

    Among the festivities, the carnival, the June festivities, São Sebastião (January 20), Santo Antônio (June 13) da Emancipação (August 20), Nossa Senhora da Conceição (December 8) stand out. Santa Luzia (December 13), Christmas and New Year.
