Beaver is in the Red Carpet Country region of Oklahoma. Once capital of the short-lived Cimarron Territory in the late 19th century, which the federal government never recognized, Beaver still retains significance as a center of commerce for all of the agriculture in this area. Additionally, it is famed for its annual World Cow Chip Throwing Championship.
