You can check the original Wikivoyage article Here

Boggabilla is a village (population 990 in 2016) in the New England region of New South Wales in Australia.

    Understand

    [edit]
    Wobbly Boot Hotel, Boggabilla

The name of the village comes from the Kamilaroi indigenous language and means 'full of creeks'. The rich fertile soil is suitable for farming cotton, broadacre crops, sheep, and beef cattle. Many locals also commute to nearby Goondiwindi for work. The Wobbly Boot Hotel is commemorated in a song of the same name by the Australian Country Music legend Stan Coster.

Boggabilla is in the Moree Plains Shire Local Government Area.

    Get in

    [edit]

    By car

    [edit]

Boggabilla is at the junction of the Bruxner Highway and the Newell Highway.

Boggabilla is 10 km south-east of Goondiwindi in Queensland on the Newell Highway and 62 km north-west of Yetman in New South Wales on the Bruxner Highway.

It is 115 km north-east of Moree on the Newell Highway.

Caution Note: There is a significant amount of interstate drug smuggling along the A39 Newell Highway; Boggabilla Highway Patrol (HWP) are notorious for cracking down on this and routinely do roadside drug testing and RBT. HWP may also search your vehicle if they suspect drug possession.

Other than drug possession, Boggabilla HWP is also notorious for cracking down on other road offences like speeding – don't exceed 110 km/h (68 mph), especially all the more on this highway.
