    Bolsover is a small market town of about 12,000 people (2011) in Derbyshire. The district of Bolsover contains fourteen small towns.

    The major industry of the area used to be coal mining, but it has declined throughout all of Britain. The two main collieries closed in 1993.

    Bolsover Castle

    • 3 Creswell Model Village. An example of early 20th-century design from the model village movement. Influenced by garden village principles, it provided the workers of Creswell Colliery with modern facilities; it had a tramway to deliver coal to the houses.
