Boulder Creek is accessed from the Santa Clara Valley by State Route 9, or by State Route 17 to Bear Creek Road, and from Santa Cruz by State Route 9. Each drive is windy but woodsy and picturesque. Much local wildlife is evident even from the road. Be sure to use turnouts to let the locals by.

[edit]- 1 Big Basin Redwoods State Park, ☏ +1 831 338-8860. Located about 30 minutes north of Felton. Go north on Highway 9 and take Highway 236 at Boulder Creek. Contains a visitor's center, many deep trails along old growth redwoods, camp areas, and access to great scenic views. Longest trails lead towards the coast, which takes an all day commitment but very worthwhile.
