Understand
[edit]Brookhaven was founded in 1818 and received a boost from the railroad in 1858. While Brookhaven used to be a bigger railroad town, some of that has left in recent decades. Brookhaven still offers a variety of things to see and do and is a great place to visit. Brookhaven is known by the nickname, "A HomeSeekers Paradise."
Get in
[edit]By car
[edit]Brookhaven is located at the intersection of Interstate 55 and US Route 84. However, both of these roads largely bypass the majority of the city. From interstate 55, the best way to get into Brookhaven is Exit 40 labeled as Downtown Brookhaven. From US 84, turn north on US 51.

Get around
[edit]There is no public transportation in Brookhaven. The best way to get around town is with a car. There is an Enterprise Rent-a-car on Brookway Boulevard for those without their own vehicle. Please note that this is several miles from either the bus station or the train station. While you could theoretically bike around Brookhaven, there are only bike lanes along a small portion of Brookway Boulevard. In the rest of the city, bikes must share lanes with cars. Brookhaven is too large to easily walk around the entire city, though the down town are could easily be accessed by foot from the train station.
