    Budleigh Salterton is a small town on East Devon's Jurassic Coast, in the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

    By road

    Budleigh Salterton is about 11 mi (18 km) from the M5 Motorway (Junction 30): follow the A376 towards Exmouth, then the B3179 to Budleigh Salterton. From the east, take the A3052 then the B3178.

    By bus

    Budleigh Salterton is served by buses from Sidmouth (Route 157) and Exmouth (Routes 157 & 357). There are also two services a day from Exeter (Route 58) timed for workers in the city.

    The nearest rail station is Exmouth, approximately 5 miles away.

    The town is relatively compact, though there are some steep hills. The 357 bus operates a loop around the town every hour during the day.

    • The South West Coast Path runs through the town offering spectacular cliff-top views, and connects Budleigh to nearby Exmouth and Sidmouth.
    • Beach. The town has a pebble beach; the westernmost end is designated for naturists (nudists), and the Council has erected signs to this effect.

    The village is down the hill out of sight of the mobile transmitters, so as of Sept 2023 there is 4G from all UK carriers on the approach road, but reception in the village is patchy especially indoors. 5G has not reached this area.

    The nearby town of Exmouth is a flourishing seaside resort town, with plenty to eat, drink, and do, with a long stretch of sandy beach. Exmouth and Budleigh are connected via the South West Coast Path that runs along the picturesque cliffside.

    To the north west 7 mi (11 km) is another seaside town of Sidmouth.
