    Bulqiza (Albanian: Bulqizë) is a municipality in Dibër County, northeastern Albania. The municipality consists of the administrative units of Fushë-Bulqizë, Gjoricë, Martanesh, Ostren, Shupenzë, Trebisht, Zerqan with Bulqizë constituting its seat. As of the 2023 census, there were 7,875 people residing in Bulqizë and 26,826 in Bulqizë Municipality.

    Bulqizë is recorded in the Ottoman defter of 1467 as a hass-ı mir-liva and derbendci settlement in the vilayet of Dulgoberda. Although the register's complete survey on the village is missing, the following household heads are attested: Dimitri Bogdani, Kolë Sharqini, Gjin Kimeza, Gjin Kolandi, Nikolla Budi, Martin Bardi, Progon Buljani, Maqe Kimëza, Istvan Nenada, Progon Bogdani, Dimitri, Todor Damëza, Banek Alakasa, Nikolla Mesina, Budi, Gjergj Garuja, and Gjergj Iglat (from i gjatë, "the tall"). The municipality of Bulqiza has a mainly hilly-mountainous relief with heights ranging from 420 m to 2101 m above sea level, but the highest mountain has a height of 2115 m above sea level. In this territory lies the Bulqiza Valley, extending from west to east and with a length of 25 km and a width of up to 1 km. This valley is crossed by the Bulqiza River, which flows into the Black Drin. The territory of this municipality is also crossed by the Okshtun Valley, which is crossed by the Okshtun River, which joins the Bulqiza River in Çerenec; other valleys include the Zogja Valley; the Martanesh Valley. Other forms of relief include: the Gollobordë Plateau; the Gjorica Plain; the Homesh Plain; the Vajkal Plain; The Klenjë Plain and the Ballenjë Plain. In the territory of the Municipality of Bulqiza are also the Martanesh and Golloborda highlands. The highest elevation is in the south of the Allaman Mountains, the Kreshtë Peak (2101 m) and at the same time the highest peak in this territory) and in the Lopa Mountains, the Dhokzit Peak (2020 m) and the Kaptina Peak (1873 m).

    • Mali me Gropa – Bizë – Martanesh (The Mountain with Holes – Bize – Martanesh). It extends over a large area, moreover attached to the area of the “Dajti Mountain” National Park and near Qafë Shtama. It represents a large mountain massif, which consists of Triassic-Jurassic limestones, with a very large thickness (over 1,000m) and highly fragmented by tectonics, flysch with limited extension and ultrabasic magmatic rocks in the east. It is interrupted by several valleys, rich in streams, which often constitute the beginning of large rivers, as is the case of the Mati River. Several interesting mountains stand out, such as: Mali i Lopës (2,000m), i Snoit të Madh (1,846m), as well as Mali me Gropa (average 1,500-1,600m), quite unique, thanks to the karst pits present in it.
    • Liqeni i Zi (Black Lake). It is a glacial lake with a north-south length of 600m, an average east-west width of 300 m, a depth of 60 m, and an average surface area of ​​16.5 ha. The altitude above sea level is 1645 m. It is surrounded on three sides by very steep slopes, covered with beech and pine forests, which give the lake a rare beauty. It has crystal clear and cold water. During the winter it freezes on the surface. Due to its great depth and chromite deposits at its bottom, it has a black color. It is rich in a living and diverse world and forms an interesting ecosystem of alpine lakes. It has scientific (geological, geomorphological, hydrological, biological), aesthetic, didactic, ecological and cultural values. It can be visited according to the itinerary: from the Burrel-Peshkopi national road to From the Bualli pass, take the road to Bater Martanesh and then the walking path to Liqeni i Zi or the Bulqize-Zerqan road then the walking path to Liqeni i Zi.
    • Ujevara e Duricit (Durici waterfall) It is located on the northern slope of Mount Dhoksi, at an altitude of approximately 900 m, east of the old city of Bulqiza, at northern latitude 41 degrees, 29 minutes and 23 seconds and eastern longitude 20 degrees, 14 minutes and 57 seconds, near a neighborhood of the village of Vajkal. The waterfall is located very close to the city of Bulqiza, 3.3 km from the city center, of which 2.2km can be reached by car, the rest is on foot. It is located near the homonymous village, at an altitude of 740 m above sea level. It consists of several karst phenomena (spring and cave), which emerge at the lithological contact between the Upper Triassic limestones and the terrigenous. It has clean and cold water. It creates a very attractive environment. It has scientific (geological, geomorphological, hydrological), cultural, didactic and touristic values. It is visited according to the Bulqize city-Zerqan villages itinerary.
    • Gurra dhe shpellan e Zerqanit (Zerqan's rocks and caves). It is located near the homonymous village, at an altitude of 740 m above sea level. It consists of several karst phenomena (spring and cave), which emerge at the lithological contact between the Upper Triassic limestones and the terrigenous. It has clean and cold water. It creates a very attractive environment. It has scientific (geological, geomorphological, hydrological), cultural, didactic and touristic values. It is visited according to the Bulqize city-Zerqan villages itinerary.
    • Qarri Muharremit (It is located near the village of Krajk, 580 m above sea level. It consists of a large tree with a special trunk and crown (oval) with a height of 30 m and a trunk diameter of about 1.5 m, with an age of over 220 years. It is visited according to the itinerary of the city of Bulqize - village of Krajk.
