[edit]Burlington is about 35 miles from the Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro and about 48 miles from Raleigh-Durham International Airport in the Research Triangle.
By car
[edit]Burlington is on I-85/I-40, east of Greensboro and west of Durham and Hillsborough.
By bus
[edit]PART route 4 connects Burlington with Chapel Hill and Greensboro, with connecting service to other cities, for $2.50 one-way. Buses only run on weekdays and not very frequently, so plan ahead.
By train
[edit]Amtrak's Carolinian and Piedmont trains connect Burlington with Greensboro, High Point, Raleigh, Charlotte, New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Richmond, and other cities. The Amtrak station is at 101 North Main Street.

[edit]- 1 Cedarock Park, 4242 R Dean Coleman Rd, ☏ +1 336-570-6759. 8AM-6PM daily; stays open later depending on the season. County park and nature preserve south of town situated along the banks of Rock Creek. Inside the park is the Cedarock Historical Farm which showcases 19th century farm life. There is also an old dam often mistaken for a waterfall.
- 2 Alamance Battleground, 5803 N.C. 62 S, ☏ +1 336-227-4785, [email protected]. Tuesday-Saturday 9AM-5PM. Site of a 1771 battle between a group of local farmers and British forces, a prelude to the Revolutionary War. Free.
- 3 Burlington Arboretum, 408 E Willowbrook D. Basically a poorly designed park: In the middle of two roads and in two areas.
