[edit]Céret is a small town with a population of approximately 7,600 inhabitants, marking the entrance to Vallespir, a region of foothills in the Pyrenees and the southernmost valley on the mainland of France. It also serves as a sub-prefecture of the Pyrénées-Orientales department. The town shares its border with Spain, adjacent to the Massif des Salines.

- 3 Museum of Musical Instruments in Céret (MúSIC), 14 rue Pierre Rameil, ☏ +33 4 68 874040, [email protected]. A collection of nearly 2500 instruments of music, of which 400 are on display.
- 4 Saint-Pierre Church. The parish church, partly of Romanesque architecture. Marble portal, Baroque altarpieces.
- 5 9 jets fountain (Fontaine des Neuf Jets). Fountain from the 14th century.
- 6 Portal de France. Part of the former city fortifications.
- 7 Monument to the fallen (Monument aux morts). Monument to the dead created by the sculptor Aristide Maillol.
- 8 Devils bridge (Pont du Diable).
- 9 Aubiry castle (Château d'Aubiry).
- 10 Hermitage Saint-Ferreol (Sant Ferriol de Ceret), At Pont du Diable in Céret, take the French departmental road 615 towards Oms. Open in summer on Thursday afternoons. Place of meditation. Procession every 18th of September. Free.
