[edit]The Central Mountain Range is one of the five major mountain ranges in Taiwan, starting from Wuyanjiao between Nanfangao and Dongao, Suao Town, Yilan County in the north, and reaching Eluanbi at the southernmost island of Taiwan in the south. It runs north-north-east to south-south west across the island. As the longest mountain range on the island, it divides the entire island of Taiwan into two asymmetrical halves with a large west and a small east. The eastern part has a steeper terrain, while the western part is wider and gentler. At the same time, the Central Mountain Range has also become the main watershed of the various water systems of the island.
