
Cerro Colorado (officially Dr Alejandro Gallinal) is a town in the Central Interior of Uruguay, located on Route 7, about 142 kilometres northeast of Montevideo, 90 kilometres from the department capital of Florida. It is a really small town, home to 1,400 people.

The town's major sights include the big clock, which casts its melody every hour, 24 hours a day. It was constructed in Holland, commissioned by Dr Alberto Gallinal in 1960. There is also a beautiful theatre nearby, which is frequently used for celebrating traditional events. There is also a chapel in the town.
The nearby historic estancia San Pedro de Timote, now a hotel (listed below), is also worth a visit—guided tours are available.

The hotel consists of a colonial house, a chapel, the guest house, a studio, a library and a conference room. 18 double rooms with private bathrooms. The rooms are a generously sized, with large beds, heating and air conditioning. Surrounded by nature, the hotel offers swimming, tennis, horseback riding, tractor rides and rural activities.
