[edit]Chikhaldara is a lovely hill station located in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra,India. This place is the only hill station in the region and hence also known as 'Kashmir of Vidharbha'. The town is situated on the plateau in Satpura Range of mountains which lies at the border of states of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. Being a hill station it is pleasant almost throughout the year. In winter, the nights can get a bit chilly though.
The best time to go to Chikhaldara is post-monsoon. It is truly spectacular at this time of the year with lush greenery, waterfalls and the lake full with water.

Chikhaldara is situated in Melghat-Kolkas Wildlife Sanctuary and also Project Tiger, hence affording an excellent opportunity for nature lovers and wild life photographers. Semadoh and Dhakna are two places where one can enjoy a jungle safari and tiger spotting after getting registered at the Forest Department Office. Gypsies and safari guides are also available at these places.
