Chiniot is a big city in Punjab (Pakistan), Pakistan. Situated along the river Chenab, Chiniot is one of the most ancient cities of Pakistan and historically a prominent town on the trade route between the Khyber Pass and Delhi. For ages, the city has been famous for the fine woodworks that are produced here. According to legend, Chiniot craftsmen were employed during the creation of the Taj Mahal. Today, Chiniot woodworks are known around the world and the city has become a bustling district capital.
