Clorinda is a city of 47,000 in Formosa Province in the Chaco region of Argentina. Located 115 km north of the provincial capital, Formosa, Clorinda is just across the border from Asunción.
Understand
[edit]Many Argentinians from the surrounding areas arrive here, park their cars, then cross the bridge (named Pasarela de la Amistad) to Puerto Elsa to make purchases at cheaper prices.
Get in
[edit]Clorinda lies across the Paraguay River from Asuncion, Paraguay, which has the closest airport. From the Asunction Airport, a taxi to Clorinda takes about 40 minutes.
Buses are available from regional destinations in Argentina, but no buses go directly between Asuncion and Clorinda, despite the proximity. Travelers wishing to cross the border can take a bus or taxi to the international bridge, walk across, and then take a bus or taxi on the other side.

Get around
[edit]The main street is Av. San Martín. As the city is small, most places can easily be reached on foot, or by hailing a taxi. On the main street there is a bank (Banco Formosa, ATM inside the door marked "Link"), several supermarkets and specialty stores, as well as eateries.
