Constanza is a town in Western Cibao, Dominican Republic.

[edit]Constanza is the agricultural hub of the country, and you can see that in the endless rows of cabbages, carrots, onions, etc on your way into the city. Food is fresh and with tons of variety. Little international (or, for that matter, domestic) tourism makes its way here, and the people are lovely, hospitable, and kind.

[edit]- Ebano Verde. Scientific reserve with wide variety of flora and fauna in the mountain climate
- Aguas Blancas, Refreshing waterfall just south of town, approximately 35 minutes by vehicle. Easy to hitchhike here, as just about anyone will pick you up from Colonia Japonesa. Free entry with some short hiking trails to the top.
- Divino Niño, A religious monument rising above the city with a great view from up top. There is a small shop selling all manner of religious supplies, as well as a very nice cafe that serves artisanal coffee and teas. A motoconcho here from town costs 500 pesos for two passengers (2026), and they will take you all the way to the top.

[edit]La Fuente, A charismatic, beautifully-decorated hostel-turned-Air BnB in town that has been here for 40 years. Run by the magnificent Melvin, who is a traveler himself and is filled with lots of tips for the region. As of April 2026, this is in the process of closing down though may still be available if you check Air BnB.
