Curridabat is a prosperous suburb of San José on the route east to Cartago. There are boutique shops, malls, and upscale neighborhoods in Curridabat.
Understand
[edit]
Curridabat is largely a continuation of the prosperous surroundings of the University of Costa Rica in nearby San Pedro de Montes de Oca. San José's wealthiest population lives here and in the Santa Ana area on the other side of the city. There is, however, a more historic section of Curridabat which consists of the street grid on the southwest side of CR-02. These are centered around Curridabat's parish church.
Get in
[edit]There are regular buses to Curridabat from San José, but Currdabat is less car friendly than San Pedro and the capital. Having a car or using Uber will be advantageous here. There are two train stations in Curridabat on the San José-Cartago line:
Additionally, there is a station in Lourdes within walking distance of Curridabat.
Get around
[edit]Uber is very affordable and usable in this area. Driving is less hectic here than in the capital.
