Danville is a city in Montour County. Danville is part of the Bloomsburg-Berwick area.

Montour and several other enormous iron mills dominated the town for most of the 19th century and the iron industry was the chief employer in the region. The iron mills fell into decline, however, as steel replaced iron in the 20th century.

Notable buildings include the Montour County Courthouse (1871), Mahoning Presbyterian Church (1853), Pine Street Lutheran Church (c. 1860), Eli Trego Building, Heim Suspender Factory (1835), First Ward School (c. 1870), Bnai Zion Temple (c. 1865), and Jemima Donaldson's Cross Keys Tavern (c. 1812).
