Understand
[edit]Doguwa is one of the farthest LGAs from Kano city and has a population of over 150,000 (2006 census). The inhabitants are mostly Hausa and Fulani Muslims who depend on farming and animal husbandry. Crops such as maize, millet, guinea corn, and yam are widely cultivated. The area is peaceful and relatively isolated compared to the more urbanized parts of Kano State.
The LGA includes several farming communities such as Falgore, Kwankwaso, and Ruwan Kanya. It shares borders with parts of Kaduna State to the south and other Kano LGAs like Tudun Wada and Sumaila.
