    Duncan[dead link] is in the Great Plains Country region of southwest Oklahoma, known as the "Crepe Myrtle Capital of Oklahoma" and as the place of origin of the petrochemical giant Halliburton. This article also covers the nearby town of Marlow.

    • Independence Day Celebration, Main Street & Redbud Park, Marlow (10 miles N of Duncan), +1 580-265-4511. The town's annual Fourth of July celebration includes an Indepence Day-themed parade, antique car and tractor show and a community party in the park. Fireworks are shot off after dusk. Free.

The food is typical "sports grill" food, including nachos, burgers, onion rings and wings. The bar is also a great spot for game viewing with several large TVs.

    • Giuseppe's, 203 West Main Marlow (10 miles N of Duncan), +1 580 658-2148. Th-Sa 11AM-8PM. A locally-owned restaurant serving traditional Italian dishes including lasagna, rigatoni, other types of pasta, etc. The restaurant sells their own private label wines and dressing. Features include an intimate private dining room in the back of the restaurant called the "Broom Closet."
