[edit]Flora and fauna numbers 211 mammals and 480 plants including 2 plants from the Red Book. The shore is a scenery rookery of sea animals.
Climate
[edit]Continental subarctic climate "characterized by long, usually very cold winters, and short, cool to mild summers.(Wikipedia)". Permafrost is melting in summer to 70 cm down. The warmest month is July averaging +15 °C (maximum +35 °C). Snow disappears in the end of May and starts in October.

Fees and permits
[edit]This is a strict ecological reserve (zapovednik). As such it is mostly closed to the general public, but the reserve allows for limited ecotourist excursions (i.e. "for environmental education purposes"). You will probably be guided along one of a set of fixed routes by a ranger. In any case you need to apply for a permit.
