    The eastern part of Gran Canaria is the economically most important part of the island. Traces of the "old Canaries" can be found here, where the oldest settlements of the Spaniards were. The region also has a lot to offer for tourists: icluding water sports, surfing, and diving.

    • 1 Las Palmas is the capital has international flair, and the 3-km-long sandy beach is ideal for relaxing. Additionally, there are museums, parks and churches in Las Palmas. The Columbus House in the district Vegueta is not to be missed.
    • 2 Telde is the second largest city, with an old town centre worth seeing.
    • 3 Ingenio
    • 4 Agüimes is a small but scenic village.
