Ede is a town in Osun state, South West Nigeria. It lies along the Osun river at a point on the railway from Lagos, 180 km southwest, and at the intersection of roads from Osogbo, Ogbomosho, and Ile-Ife. About 70% of Ede's population is Muslim.
Ede has two local governments namely: Ede North Local Government, Oja-Timi and Ede South Local Government, Oke-Iresi.
