Ẹgbẹ Mẹkun, popularly called Ẹgbẹ, is a historic town in the Yagba West local government area of Kogi State, Nigeria.

[edit]This town is an ancient town bordering Kogi and Kwara States. It is surrounded by some undulating and luxuriant hills of savannah vegetation which are visible as you move around the town; this explained why it is sometimes referred to as "Jerusalem in Nigeria". The dialect spoken by these people is called Yagba, they have ancestry root linked to the Yorubas in Nigeria as they speak Yoruba.
Climate
[edit]The wet season lasts from April to October with rainfall peaking in September. The dry season from November to March is characterized by the northeast tradewind, known as the Harmattan.

[edit]By bus You can travel to Egbe, Kogi State by bus from major cities like Abuja, Benin, Lagos. There are numerous transport services to help get into Egbe such as ABC Transport, God is Good motors, Big Joe Motors, Young shall grow and other suitable transport companies are available.
