The Saimaa Ringed Seal (Phoca hispida saimensis) lives only in Lake Saimaa, the largest lake of Finland.

Endangered animals are the ones that are likely to go extinct in the near future. This includes some of the well-known animals like elephants and tigers. Due to the ongoing human invasion of nature, various animals are pushed to the brink of extinction. Many endangered animals are conserved in national parks and similar protected areas across different countries.
