You can check the original Wikivoyage article Here

Eti-Osa is a Local Government Area of Lagos State in Nigeria. Lagos State Government administers the council area as Ikoyi-Obalande LCDA, Eti-Osa East, and Iru Victoria Island LCDA. Within Eti-Osa are several important areas of Lagos State, including Lagos' Victoria Island. Before the Nigerian capital moved to Abuja, Eti-Osa Local Government Area served alongside Lagos Island Local Government Area as the seat of the national capital.

Eti-Osa's people are predominantly from the Awori Yoruba and the Edo subgroup. However, like most parts of Lagos State, it is home to a diverse mix of ethnicities from all over the country.

    Understand

    [edit]

Ajah is a neighbourhood in the Lekki area of Lagos. It spans from Victoria Garden City (VGC) down to Abraham Adesanya roundabout on the Lekki-Epe express, and extends to places like Badore, Ado, and Langbasa in its interior. It is one of the constantly developing places in the Lekki axis. It takes about 25-40 minutes drive to get to Victoria Island (VI) from Ajah.

Eko Atlantic city is a new city under construction. It is a planned district being constructed on land reclaimed from the Atlantic Ocean.

In the past, the area was known for heavy hold-ups. Motorists in the area commuting to and fro their various places of work faced severe traffic daily during the rush hour periods of the day. However, the flyover bridge has helped to significantly improve the traffic situation in the area since it opened in 2017, although there’s still traffic on most evenings caused by the activities of traders and commercial bus drivers at the Ilaje Junction.

It‘s a common belief that the Lekki axis is meant for only rich and influential individuals; which is true to a certain extent as there are several highbrow neighbourhoods in the area, but one must not necessarily be rich to reside in Lekki. Some parts of Ajah offers affordable options for middle and low-income earners.

There is the ever-busy Ajah market located off the Lekki-Epe Expressway. The Ajah market is a very popular market in Lekki where one can get items such as foodstuff, fruits, clothes and other household items.
