    Fort Gibson is a town in the Green Country Region of Oklahoma, dating from 1824. This is the longest-lived town from Indian Territory days and was originally the planned site for the Capitol of the State of Sequoyah that never was.

    • Fort Gibson Stockade. A reconstruction of a 1824 Pre American Civil War stockade fort (The ruins of the original can still be seen near the present-day fort). In April, Oklahoma re-enactors hold "Fort Gibson Days" on the grounds.

    • Fort Gibson Days. Oklahoma re-enactors descend on the Stockade Fort and bring it to life once again. Festivities include a frontier market, black powder rifle and cannon demonstrations and Various exhibits all culminating in a re-enactment of the American Civil War Battle of Fort Gibson. (Early to Mid April)
