Frye Island Voyage Tips and guide

You can check the original Wikivoyage article Here

Frye Island is a seasonal resort town in Cumberland County on an island in Sebago Lake. Frye Island is vacant from November through April.

    Get in

    [edit]

Getting to Frye Island is easy. The island is accessible via a public car ferry that runs every half-hour from Raymond, Maine's Cape Road. Two ferries, the Leisure Lady and the Ellie Corliss, each have a 9-car capacity, and take only 10 minutes to make the short trip to the island.

From November through April, the ferry does not operate due to the formation of thick ice during cold winter months.

    Get around

    [edit]

Frye Island has a network of roads that span the entire island. All roads are dirt/gravel, and are maintained extremely well by the public works department.

Transportation on the island is mainly car or golf cart (most homeowners own golf carts which are permissible as transportation on the island).

There are also many bike and hiking trails on the island for those looking for outdoor adventures.
