    Get in

    [edit]

    By bus

    [edit]

There are many buses from nearby Fuzhou to central Fuqing. The trip takes a bit over half an hour.

A few buses coming to Fuzhou from towns further south — Putian, Quanzhou or Xiamen — stop in Fuqing, but most just drop off passengers at a nearby highway exit where it is easy to grab a cab for the two km ride into town.

    By train

    [edit]
    Fuqing Railway Station

It takes about 15 to 30 minutes to reach Fuqing by train from Fuzhou.

There are two railway stations in Fuqing:

    • 1 Fuqing Railway Station (福清站), Yingbin Avenue (迎宾大道) (bus nos. 633, 707, 805, 806, 808, 810, 820, 822, 830, 832 and 901). Fuqing railway station (Q5509436) on Wikidata Fuqing railway station on Wikipedia

    Talk

    [edit]

The local Fuqing dialect, also commonly known in Southeast Asia as Hokchia, is part of the Mindong family like the Fuzhou dialect, but is nevertheless still distinct only partially mutually intelligible. However, most locals are bilingual in their local tongue and Mandarin.
