    Fuquay-Varina is a city of about 33,000 people (as of 2020) in North Carolina. Originally the two separate communities of Fuquay Springs and Varina, which merged upon incorporation in 1909. The town is often referred to simply as "Fuquay", pronounced ['fyu-kwei] (FYOO-kway).

    The main road running through Fuquay-Varina is US-401, from Raleigh and Garner in the north to Lillington and Fayetteville in the south. NC-42 — linking Fuquay to the outskirts of Cary and Durham in the north, and Angier and Kinston in the east — and NC-55 — which runs through Sanford in the southwest to Wilson in the northwest — also run through town.

Wooded state park full of hiking trails along the Cape Fear River, located about 25 miles (45 km) from Fuquay-Varina. Includes a nice view from an overhang on top of the cliffs where you can see the river below. Primitive camping is possible, with no potable water available. Free.
