Gajoldoba is a tourist hub in the Dooars region of West Bengal. It is considered a paradise for birdwatchers, since migratory birds congregate at the dam over the Teesta River. The reservoir is surrounded by the Baikunthapur Forest. It is said that Lord Krishna, along with his principal wife and Queen Rukmani, chose that forest as their hiding place. West Bengal Tourism runs a lodge at Gajoldoba.
