    Glenholme Nature Reserve was re-introduced to tourists with project collaboration between WESSA Highway Branch and Kloof Conservancy.

    You can see a very wide variety of biomes peculiar to this region on a relatively small area which is easily accessible. The reserve comprises grassland, scarp and swamp forest. The stream that plunges over a waterfall and into the gorge forms one of the headwaters of the Umbilo River. There is also a pond which is inhabited by a few fish species and some water birds. You can also view a rare swamp forest from elevated boardwalks.

    Via Durban

    Head west from Durban towards Kloof to Glenholme. From the M13 take the Village Road; Kloof off-ramp. Turn left at the end of the off-ramp and then to right immediately. Follow signs for Kloof and Highway SPCA.

    The reserve opens from 8:30AM to 5PM, with no entrance fees charged.

    You can decide to go for guided walks which are scheduled for 2nd Sunday of every month. You can go on either a short easy strolls or a more challenging longer routes depending on how fit you know you are.
