[edit]Gombi is a historic town in northern Adamawa State, Nigeria, inhabited mainly by the Bura, Fulani, and Higgi people, with Hausa widely spoken. Once part of the old Borno Empire, it became part of the Adamawa Emirate in the 19th century under Modibbo Adama. The town grew into a major trading center linking Yola to Borno and remains an agricultural hub producing maize, millet, groundnuts, and beans. Gombi is also known for its rich cultural heritage, traditional festivals, and leadership under the District Head within the Adamawa Emirate Council.
