[edit]The village is divided into two distinct areas: Porto-Marine, the tourist-focused coastal section near the beach and marina, and Porto-Ota, the more residential mountainside area where most locals live.

[edit]Porto features several notable landmarks and attractions. The Genoese tower of Porto, a square watchtower unique in Corsica as the last of its kind still standing, previously functioned as the village's water reservoir. The local beach is supervised by lifeguards during the summer season (July to September).
The village serves as a starting point to reach Castagne, a former port that was abandoned following the decline of Porto's olive trade. Several hiking trails are accessible from Porto, including the Capo d'Ortu path, which offers panoramic views of the Gulf of Porto.
