Get in
[edit]Harrietville is accessible by road on the Great Alpine Road from Bright (20 kilometers) or Mount Hotham (20 kilometers).
The Alps Link is a government bus service from Bright to Omeo via Harrietville, Mt Hotham, Dinner Plain and Cobungra on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
The Snowball Express[dead link] bus service runs to Harrietville from Mount Hotham, Bright, Myrtleford and Melbourne during the snow season.

[edit]Harrietville no longer has fuel available, so remember to buy it in Bright before the ascent to Mount Hotham and Dinner Plain, since fuel is not available on the mountain or Harrietville:
- Harrietville General Store, The Great Alpine Road, ☏ +61-3-5759-2553. Bakery with pies, etc. No longer sells petrol.
If travelling into the mountains past Harrietville towards Mount Hotham, you will be required to carry fitting snow chains in winter. These are available for hire in Harrietville:
- Hoys Harrietville, Main Street (Just over the school bridge), ☏ +61-3-5759-2658. Hoys Harrietville has chains for hire, as well as ski clothing and ski and snowboard equipment. If you hire chains here, they will give you a receipt that entitles you to a 20% discount when hiring equipment form Hoys in Mount Hotham or Dinner Plain. It can be a good idea to pick up your clothing and apres boots here though.
