In the city of Hwaseong, summer is warm, hot and rainy, winter is short, very cold, snowy and windy; and partly cloudy throughout the year. Throughout the year, the temperature typically varies from -7°C to 30°C, rarely below -13°C or above 33°C.
Based on tourist scores, the best time of the year to visit Hwaseong City for warm weather activities is from the end of May to early July and from mid-August to the end of September.

[edit]- 1 Gungpyeonghang (궁평항), 660-11 Gungpyeong-ri, Seosin-myeon. Gungpyeong Port, famous for its beautiful sunsets, was designated as a national fishing port in 2008. You can enjoy fishing at Gungpyeong Port, a small port with a well-equipped fish market full of fresh and delicious seafood, and Fishing Pier, an attractive bridge that attracts small boats and anglers. It is a place loved by people who take a walk or hike because of the beautiful scenery.

Yung-Geonleung is a combination of Yungleung, a cemetery buried together of Crown Prince Sado and Queen Heunggyeong, and Geonleung, a cemetery buried together of Crown Prince Sado's son King Jeongjo and Queen Hyoui. ₩1,000 (only age 25-65).
- 3 Yongjusa (용주사), 136 Yongju-ro, ☏ +82 31-234-0040. 24 hours. Historic Buddhist temple with an elaborate, colorful interior, storied bells & tranquil grounds.
- 4 Namyang Sports Park (남양체육공원), 95, City Hall-ro 45beon-gil. It is a park equipped with various amenities such as a wetland garden, a library, and sports facilities. It is also called the Green Health Garden Park.
- 5 Zoolung Zoolung Zoo Dongtan Branch (주렁주렁 동물원 동탄점), 21, Dongtan-daero 5-gil, ☏ +82 1644-2153. Tu-Su 11:00-19:00, closed M. It is an indoor zoo with about 50 kinds of aqua cafes, including penguins, sharks, rays, and discuses. It also has an indoor playground of 150 pyeong. ₩29000.
- 6 Dongtan Lake Park (동탄호수공원), 69 Dongtan Sunhwan-daero. It is a park built around the Sancheok Reservoir and Songbangcheon Stream in Dongtan New Town, providing a space for Hwaseong City and nearby residents to relax and enjoy various cultures. It is a well-being space in the city with a wide lawn along the lake, a large picnic area, and a phytoncide forest.
- 7 Grandpa Animal Farm (할아버지 동물농장), 50 Bami-gil, Ujeong-eup, ☏ +82 507-1365-7507. W-Su 10:30-18:00, closed M Tu. It is an animal farm with a dog playground, an indoor animal experience center, an indoor playground, an outdoor playground, a rose garden, an unmanned cafe, and a snack bar. It is a place where dogs can experience food. Weekdays ₩11000, weekend ₩13000.
- 8 Yunggeolleung (화성 융건릉), 21 Hyohaeng-ro 481beon-gil, ☏ +82 31-222-0142. Tu-Su 09:00-17:30, closed M. It is the tomb of King Jongjo, the son of the 21st King Yeongjo in the late Joseon Dynasty, and Queen Heongyeong. Adult ₩1000, elderly and child Free, foreign ₩1000.
- 9 Jebudo (제부도), Jebu-ri, Seosin-myeon, ☏ +82 1577-4200. The island forms an inverted triangle as a whole, and the tip of the southwest coast extends to the sea like a swallow's tail. The coming and going of the coastline is relatively monotonous, and the mudflats have developed widely. The coastal area is generally developed as a tourist destination, and the other flatlands are agricultural land. It was called Jeobi Island or Jeobi Island, meaning an island viewed from a distance from the land.
- 10 Hwasan Sports Park (화산체육공원), 91-7 Songsan-dong, ☏ +82 31-220-8100. 06:00-23:00. It is a park equipped with facilities for various sports and leisure activities. Inside the park, there is a soccer field, basketball court, tennis court, and various sports facilities, providing a space for locals and visitors to enjoy various sports.
- 11 Botong Reservoir (보통저수지), 38, Botong-ri, Jeongnam-myeon. It was first built to supply agricultural water, and there are trails centered on the Dulegil and the fishing area.
- 12 Jeongok Port (전곡항), Jeongok-ri, Seosin-myeon, ☏ +82 577-4200. It is a port facing Jebudo and Nue Island. According to the West Coast Tourism Belt Development Plan linked to Jebudo, Gungpyeong Port, and Hwaseong Lake, it was selected as a pilot area for leisure fishing for the first time in the country and was created as a multifunctional themed fishing port. A breakwater connecting Sinseo-myeon and Daebu in Ansan City is built right next to the port, so ships can come and go 24 hours a day regardless of the high tide and low tide.
- 13 Jebudo Beach (제부도해수욕장), Jebu-ri, Seosin-myeon. There is a 1.8km long white sand beach on the west coast of Jebudo Island. There is a strange rock cliff on the right side of the white sand beach, and during the low tide, the mudflats are spread out, serving as a natural experience center, such as catching clams or observing sea life.
- 14 Geondal Mountain (건달산), Segok-ri, Bongdam-eup. The mountain is relatively low at 205 meters above sea level. When you reach the top of the mountain, visitors can see the whole area of Hwaseong.
- 15 Wuum Island (우음도), Gojeong-ri, Songsan-myeon. It became land due to the construction of the Sihwa Seawall in 1994, and now, Songsan Green City is being created under the leadership of the Korea Water Resources Corporation, and the administrative district has been changed to Saesol-dong. When it was an island, the total area was 0.42㎢, and it was a small island with a population of about 100 people.
- 16 Ippa Island (입파도), 24-15 Ippa-gil, Ujeong-eup. It is 40km away from the sea southwest of Incheon and takes about an hour by boat from Maehyang-ri, Ujeong-eup, Hwaseong-si. Most of the island is hilly below 50m above sea level, gentle to the east and west, and has a cliff coast in the north and south. The red rock formations on the coast are considered one of the eight scenic views of Hwaseong City.
- 17 Eo Island (어섬), 327-22 Eoseom-gil, Songsan-myeon, ☏ +82 31-357-0000. The majority of the residents were engaged in both agriculture and fisheries because large-scale fishing grounds were established around the island, along with nearby Masanpo, until it was connected to the land through the reclamation project in the Sihwa district in 1994. However, after the reclamation project, the island has been transformed into a grape orchard, a guest house, and a sashimi restaurant.
- 18 Osancheon (오산천), Osan-dong. It is a river that passes through Yeongcheon-dong and Osan-si in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, and joins Jinwi-cheon Stream from Jeokbong-ri, Seotan-myeon, Pyeongtaek-si. The total length is about 22 km, of which about 15 km is designated as a national river.
- 19 The red lighthouse of Jebudo (제부도 빨간등대), 289-20 Jebu-ri, Seosin-myeon. It is one of the major landmarks of Jebudo. The lighthouse stands out in vivid red against the backdrop of Jebudo's West Sea, and is favored as a place to enjoy the scenery and take photos. The area around the lighthouse has well-maintained trails and waterfront.
- 20 Sinheungsa (신흥사), 17-34, Sinheungsa-gil, Seosin-myeon, ☏ +82 31-357-2695. The temple was constructed in 1934. Focusing on the edification of children and adolescents, the temple has created many programs such as a daily Buddhist retreat and a summer Buddhist school for children to carry out missionary work. Shinheungsa Temple is famous for its children's Dharma meeting, and its signboards and contents are written in Korean, not in Chinese characters. The stairs leading to Daewoongjeon Hall also have a ramp to help the elderly and wheelchairs climb.
