It is common to have network outages affecting all or some of the mobile phone service providers. This is especially common in several of the city's outlying neighborhoods. It's also not uncommon for different networks to be more stable and reliable at different times in different areas. Because you can't predict which will be more stable and reliable at any given time in your location during your visit, it's best to have numerous SIM cards that work with all of the mobile service carriers if you're planning a trip to this city. And if you're going to take a chance on not having any of them, you might as well avoid the MTN network because, based on early indications, it appears to perform better than the others.
