[edit]- New Yam Festival. August to October. While the New Yam Festival is celebrated throughout Igboland, it holds particular significance in Igbo-Ukwu. The annual harvest festival for the town's most vital crop involves dancing, masquerading, various rituals, and of course feasts including many dishes containing yam.
