Chachapoyas: Direct buses everyday at 6.30am, 9am, 11am, 2pm, 3.30pm, 5.30pm for 15 Soles

Nambija company runs a daily bus to Loja, Ecuador, with stops along the route. It goes through the border crossing in La Balsa (~1h for migration procedures) and has a longer stop for lunch at the terminal terrestre in Zumba. Total drive time with 10-11h is somewhat longer than the stated duration of 8 1/2 hours. The roads on the Ecuadorian side are in bad condition (unpaved and very curvy), so prepare for a bumpy ride. The views of the Andes are spectacular though.
