Kangchenjunga is the world's third-highest mountain at 8,586 m (28,169 ft). It straddles the border of India (Sikkim) and Nepal and can be visited from either side:
- Khangchendzonga National Park, the more commonly visited region on the Indian (eastern) side of the mountain
- Kanchenjunga Conservation Area, the less visited nature reserve on the Nepalese (western) side
Other than these, the mountain is famously visible from North Bengal in India, particularly Darjeeling. It can also be seen from northern Bihar, as well as Panchagarh in northern Bangladesh.
