    Kapuvár (Croatian: Kapuja, German: Kobrunn) is a town of 10,000 people (2021) and a district in Győr-Moson-Sopron County. The town is known for its thermal water which some believe has hydrotherapeutic properties.

    Kapuvár town is halfway between Győr and Sopron. It is served by the M85 motorway and main road 85.

    • 2 Dénesfa (Kapuvár 17 km. By train Csorna (24 km), Szombathely (48 km)). Cziráky Mansion (built in 1620s for Water Castle, rebuilt between 1825-1830, classicist style, following plans by József Hild) and its English park, King's Chapel (in memory of Charles IV of Hungary also known as Charles I of Austria, Located: toward Répceszemere).

    Local gastronomic specialties include "clasp-knife platter of Kapuvár," rolled meat of Hany Istók, slaughterman liver, foreleg ham of Kapuvár, rolled meat of Hanság, fritter-like pastry, rolled crêpes filled with preserves, and "pretzel of Rábaköz."
