Katwa (কাটোয়া Kāṭoẏā) is a town in the Purba Bardhaman district of West Bengal, at the southern bank of the Ajay River.

[edit]- 1 Ajay Park. A green park with scenic views of the Ajay River.
- Khaepa Kali Tala (Kshyapa Kalitala). A temple complex near Sri Gauranga Bari. It consists of the principle Kali temple, along with the temples of Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and Durga.
- 2 Sri Gauranga Bari. In January 1510, Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu received diksha from his guru Keshab Bharati at the site of the current Sri Gauranga Bari Temple in Katwa. Since then, this small township has been a sacred place for Vaishnavites.

[edit]- 1 Attahas (অট্টহাস Aṭṭahās), Dakshindihi, Nirole, Ketugram (inside a forest). One of the 51 Shakti Pithas at which the body parts and jewellery of the Hindu goddess Shakti fell to Earth. Several migrant birds flock at winter. The spiritual ambiance of the temple gives you a mental peace. The temple is crowded between November and March. A huge fair is organised during Holi. There's also a guest house in the temple.
- 2 Bahula, Ketugram. One of the 51 shakti pithas at which the left arm/foot of the Hindu goddess Shakti fell to Earth. Here, Shakti is worshipped as Ma Bahula.
- Singi. Birthplace of Kashiram Das, one of the famous Bengali translators of the Mahabharata.
- 3 Uddharanpur.
