• Nuui Cunni Native American Intertribal Cultural Center and Museum, 2600 CA-155, Lake Isabella, ☏ +1 760-549-0800. W, F-Sa 10AM-2PM. 
• Silver City Ghost Town, 3829 Lake Isabella Blvd, Bodfish, ☏ +1 760-379-5146. W, M-F 10AM-4PM, Sa 10AM-5PM. You can step back in time and visit a former gold prospecting town here. $7.50 adults, $5 children. 

Kayak and whitewater raft in the Kern River.

• Kern River Fish Hatchery (A mile or so north of Kernville). Friday through Monday 10AM-4PM. Free admission. 
• Whiskey Flats Days , held in Kernsville in late February to commemorate the gold rush era of this area, includes a rodeo.

• Sequoia Lodge, 16123 Sierra Way, ☏ +1 760-376-2535. Located along the banks of Kern River, beautiful scenery and very cozy rooms, which look more as small cabins, but still the price of a room (around $100 for holidays). It has 14 rooms with refrigerator, microwave, toaster, silverware, dishes, TV, in-room coffee, and wireless internet. It does not have stove, but it does have barbecues in the patios. Access to the river is 20 steps from your room.
