Kinyarwanda is one of the main pillars that preserve the Rwandan culture and heritage as well as history. And this is widely seen in Rwandan literature which includes dances (imbyino), riddles (ibisakuzo), myths (ibitekerezo), pastoral songs (amahamba), hunters' song (amahigi), sailors' song (amasare), praising songs (ibisingizo), Lullaby or cradle song (ibihozo), tongue twisters (amagorane), spellcasting (ibitongero), proverbs (imigani), poems (ibyivugo).
Kinyarwanda language is one of four official languages used in Rwanda, which are Kinyarwanda, English, French and Swahili.
