Ko Por is an island in Krabi Province.

    Understand

    [edit]

Ko Por is a tiny island of about 1.6 sq km, in front of the Ko Lanta Yai Old Pier. The majority of the 500 residents of the island are Muslims who support themselves through agriculture and fishing. It has a primary school, a mosque, and a nursery. There are about three beaches and the biggest one is on the southwest of the island, near the pier.

    Get in

    [edit]
    • From Ko Lanta Yai, in the Old District Pier, you can find a longtail taxi boat. It takes about 10 minutes to reach Ko Por.

    Do

    [edit]

In Ko Por there is enough to do for 3-4 days but not for a long stay. Some villagers can show you how to cut a rubber tree, take you fishing, or for a trip on a longtail boat. Hiking on the island is also very nice. It's also fun to be on the beach in the evening, when there may be hundreds of little crabs scurrying out of the water and across the sand.

    Buy

    [edit]

There are no shops on the island, so if you need something, get it on Ko Lanta.

    Drink

    [edit]

    Sleep

    [edit]

There are some home stays where you can live with a Thai family. Ask the villagers to know more.

    Connect

    [edit]

    Go next

    [edit]

The home stay or guest house can arrange for you to go back at Ko Lanta Yai.

    Respect

    [edit]

To respect the Muslims on the island, who might consider it inappropriate for a woman to be seen wearing a bathing suit, it may be best to swim on the beach in the northwest of the island, because a Buddhist family lives there. It would also be respectful to refrain from drinking alcohol among Muslims.
