[edit]Kollegal is the starting point for visiting Male Mahadeshwara Hill, which is about 80 km from Kollegal. There are many coconut and sugarcane farms on the way. Very often the farms stretch for five to ten kilometers without any buildings in between. There are two villages called Kamagare and Hannur on the way. When only 18 kilometers are left to M.M.Hills, the 27 hairpin bends begin. There is a yellow temple when only seven kilometers are left. The final landmark is the checkpost after which there is one more kilometer to the bus station at the hill. The hilltop has an ancient Shiva temple, situated deep inside the forest. The hilltop is well developed with a paved footpath and wide roads.
