Kopeng is a small town in Central Java. It provides access Mount Merbabu National Park, which has hiking and mountaineering opportunities. There is also an adventure park offer ropes courses, ATVing, and other activities.

Get in
[edit]The easiest way is from Salatiga, about 12 km away, through a steep road. There is a minibus going from Salatiga to Kopeng and further destinations (maybe as far as Magelang). The minibus goes from Pasar Sapi intersection in Salatiga.
Get around
[edit]Kopeng covers a small area and therefore quite walkable. Some people choose to hire and ride a horse (with the "guide") for a leisurely "tour".

- 1 Mount Merbabu. An inactive volcano with a height of 3142 m above sea level.
- 2 Umbul Songo Waterfall. A seasonal waterfall which is completely dried up during the dry season! Umbul Songo literally means "nine fountains".
